Everyone who knew this was Cow Tree should also know that Ronnie is misleading in his rhyme that Mario "never charged a fee." Mario ALWAYS had an angle and made sure he got every penny. Those cigars didn't come cheap.
Just found out that Mario R. past away a couple of months ago. He was living in Bergen Beach Brooklyn. At his wake was a floral arrangement in the design of a cigar. Another arrangement was designed as a school bus. Mario had driven a bus for a time after he left Kensington. May he rest in peace.
I remember cow tree very well. Mario was a great man, my cousin worked for him for years and then moved on to become a police office. And my brother Tony also worked there part time.Love and miss my brother may he rest in peace. I remember meeting Dan Marino there. May you rest in peace Mario
I remember Marios, we never called it cow tree it was just MARIO'S to my family. My cousin worked for him for years and then later became a police office, my brother Tony also worked for Mario part time as a teenager. I remember meeting Dan Marino there as a child. Marios was the spot on church ave back then and let's not forget about the church ave crew that hung out across the street everynite. Mario was a great man may he rest in peace
Please enjoy all our stories of what it was like growing up in Kensington and Windsor Terrace in a time long forgotten. And always remember the streets that raised and taught you well.
