Ok, so below is a list of stores that used to line the North side of Church Avenue starting way down by 36th street. I know I have left out many, but I'm getting old you know. Now the first person to correctly get them in the proper order, thats naming them in order from 36th street all the way down to East 5th street will win one hours worth of track time at the Buzz-a-rama.
Thats a value of 14 dollars or so. WOW!!!!
And please feel free to fill in the missing stores if you know where they go. And once again today's quiz is only the stores that lined Church Avenue on the (North side) that's the Beverly side for all you old timers.!

There was a fruit and vegetable store in the "old days" before the supermarkets as well as a fish store on that side of the street near the meatmarket. There was also a candy store near the Greater New York Savings bank and a luncheonette called "Irvings" on the corner of Church and east 5th.
And of course the "Chinese restaurant" was Nom Tong Tea Garden with the best tomato egg drop soup on the planet....by the way, does anyone still have tomato egg drop soup on the menu?
there was another chinese restaurant near scarollas and im still trying to recall the name of it. it was a very nice sit down place. anyone know?

The Beverly movie house was on the North Side of Church Avenue along with all the stores mentioned.
Lee's, Kenny's and Korner Pizza are on the South Side of Church Avenue.

Was Bartons chocolate the same as the Hallmark store, I remember it on the north side of Church on the corner of 3rd or 4th

Bartons and the Hallmark store were one and the same. If my memory serves me correct, it was located on Church Avenue corner of East Second.
There was also a store that sold costume jewelry between east 3rd and 4th streets
What about LJT car service on E5th? or the little hardware store that used to be there...
There were two kosher butchers, a TV repair place, Victors, Royale Sporting Goods, Lazarus Superette, Donut Deli, Kennys, a children's clothing store, Nationwide Insurance, Sams Lunchenotte, Rand cleaners, Roys barbershop, The Daitch Dairy.Fairmart A&P,Earnies High Fashions, Sportsman Bar, There was a shoe repair shop with an Italian name.
