Ok, so because I can't think of anything to write anymore
I came up with this new idea called "Kensington Quiz Time"
What I'll be doing is using Google Street View and uploading
current store fronts and houses that used to be something
else way back when we were kids.
So to start off I'm loading a shot of the current Computer
store on the North/East corner of Church and East Fourth.
Now way back in the 60's it was something else, and to give
you a hint my mom used to buy me a box of "Smith Brothers"
cough drops there. And Steve Miller's "Fly Like an _____" should
give you a hint as well.
The first person to get the correct answer
gets posted tomorrow front and center!
So what was it??

Haha, Eagle Pharmacy
Everyone Got Eagle Pharmacy, but not everyone would remeber Miss Janet's Dance Studio
'Cause I already left B'Klyn by the time the dance studio appeared.
I lived in the apartment above the Eagle Pharmacy from 1960 till 1969 and attended IHM.
I remember when that was miss janets dance studio. After your recital at the end of the year they would post all the class pics in the front window and everyone would stop and try and pick out their friends. Either u had a good pic and would be proud, or sn embarrassing one and you'd have to wait a whole year for them to take it down.
Miss Janets was there for many years.
I was a student of Miss Janet's Dance studio form 1988 til 1994. It was the best time of my life. They did post all of the recital pics on the windows, when the new school year started. IT had two studios. Studio A and B. B was around the corner. We did all of our recitals at Brooklyn College. I would love to get in touch with all the teachers I studied under. They were Miss Gina, Miss Terry, Miss Diana, and, of course, Miss Janet. Miss Sue was the coordinator for all the behind the seens stuff, but would perform when we had intermission with the entire group. At the end of every recital, We sang the Laverne and Shirley theme song as an entire group. Every student, teacher and worker got on stage to perform. I still have all of my recitals on VHS and watch them every so often. If anyone has a way to contact these teachers, please email me. Thanks so much.
You forgot Miss Michelle....I went to Miss Janet's Dance studio from 1994-2003 when they closed I remember cause I was going to make 10 years and they closed down I was so sad about that. But I had 9 beautiful years with them and I will always cherish the memories.
